FreedomWorks is a non-profit grassroots organization with a 25 year history of fighting for lower taxes, less government, and more economic freedom. We are looking for a Press and Media Assistant to assist the Vice President of Communications with all press and media activities.

Responsibilities include drafting press releases and assisting in writing editorial pieces; compiling PR documents for staff, activists, member and media; maintaining log of all earned media; maintaining earned media press clippings, videotapes, audio tapes, etc.; send media releases to vendors; follow-up on events to assess media coverage; generate media lists, labels and other materials; planning and running events such as press conferences and briefings; and assist in writing, editing and proofing various documents.

Required Skills
This position requires demonstrated writing ability, well-developed interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills and knowledge of public policy process or campaign experience. The ideal candidate works well in teams, is a self starter and must be able to prioritize. Candidates must be able to work in a faced-paced campaign environment, often requiring nights and weekends with possible travel.
Desirable Skills
Experience with blogging, Word Press and desktop publishing skills are desirable.
