Manager for the Fundraising Department for a conservative pro business federation that does lobbying on Capitol Hill
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop strategic fundraising and cultivation plan for new and existing members. Conduct follow-up with companies via email, letters and phone calls. Write follow-up letters to donors and potential donors; help manage high-level corporate recruitment of new members and increase the involvement of current members; provide customer service to members; and help maintain member relationships. Organize daily, weekly, and monthly fundraising call list; compile briefing materials and follow-up on major fundraising meetings; track publications, issue developments on Capitol Hill, and policy priorities and communicate accordingly to current and prospective members; schedule and coordinate meetings; update database, including contacts, interactions, and invoicing; answer phones and respond to routine inquiries; monitor staff deadlines; anticipate briefings for SVP; manage fundraising-related projects; and handle related administrative duties.
Bachelor's and 2 to 4 years’ work experience in fundraising or related field, preferably with a political or nonprofit group. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic fundraising plans. Ability to adapt and adjust strategies in support of new initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Strong organization skills. Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Internet, and other research tools Ability to set priorities and multitask. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
